Friends and I stumbled into this place just looking for something to eat for lunch. Best roast beef sandwich ever! I still dream about it. I like my roast beef really rare. After ordering my sandwich, I jokingly asked them if their roast beef was rare and the guy behind the counter was like we'll give you a rarer piece. It was so rare it was awesome!!

Always good food here. The Dagwood Dipper is the way to go, but prefer to get fries instead of chips.

Dagwoods is wonderful sandwich shop that has been around Myrtle Beach for years. It has changed ownership, but basically kept the same menu as in the past. As for the prices they are very reasonable compared to the chain sandwich shops but at Dagwoods you actually get meat on your sandwich! If you haven't been to Dagwoods in a while you have to pay attention to the menu prices because you are paying for a LARGE sandwich, but you can, if you ask, get the smaller version of the sandwich which still is a LARGE sandwich at any chain sandwich shop for a very reasonable price. Another big plus for Dagwoods is they bake their fresh sourdough hoagie rolls daily! If you're local ask for the buy ten sandwiches get one free punch card!! Excellent restaurant and yes it can get noisey but that is a sign that everyone is enjoying themselves! It is also attached to their bar called Bumsteads, where you can order an ICE COLD DRAFT and A SHAG (Ham, Turkey, Swiss Cheese, with L & T, on their fresh baked sourdough bread! Yummy!!

yum! Suggested by my manager because I only eat sandwiches for lunch... i went to Dagwood's and really liked it's location first of all. Not really much parking, just a gravel area next to the building, but good enough. It is actually connected to a bar, Bumstead's (which is a cool little local bar). Anyways, being picky, I like just meat, cheese, and tomatoes on my sandwiches (but the salami over here on the east coast is different than west coast) anyways... the ingredients were fine, but what made my sandwich delicious was the bread! They bake their own bread daily and it was so fresh and so moist, for lack of a better word... that i would go back just to have the bread! :) Also note, however, I am a serious bread enthusiast LOL.... So overall it was a good place, i can't report on the selection, im pretty sure they have a good one, but that's cause I'm so plain and picky. I say yay I'm a fan... :)

Great overstuffed subs/sammies. I got the Super Mario special most recently and it was one of the best subs ever (on asiago/herb sub roll). Staff is super friendly. Ambiance is tolerable due to awesome food.

I had the Dagwood dipper after the waitress said it was the most ordered. The bread was very soft & warm & the sandwich was stuffed with turkey, melted Swiss cheese & topped with bacon bits. It was good but not spectacular. Stick with regular fries, the sweet potato fries had little flavor

We are from Philly so our sandwich and cheesesteak expectations are usually on the higher side. This place was very had good bread and was very soft. Also meat was tasty! Never had cheese melted on top like this and loved it! If your are visiting definitely recommend hitting it for lunch

Nice place for a sandwich. Seems so reviews are really generous on this place. It's a sandwich shop with good food, not great. We'd eat here again. I don't think every time we go to the beach we'll have to stop here.

this place has become a tradition for my friends and I. each year we go down this is first place we stop at and this year one of our friends joined who is also vegetarian and they also have a nice selection that she was impressed with. the mixed drinks are top notch and the outside seating is a nice touch. swinging rocking chair with canopy.

Hit the one with sports bar attached. Sat outside, was a bit noisy inside, but that's to be expected when a game is on. Outside was nice. I had the Cuban and others had cheese steak. Average cheese steak but GREAT Cuban. Drinks were great all around.

Only after trying to go to several others places that were closed, did a parking lot attendant steer us in the direction of Dagwoods. Boy were we glad! The sandwiches are huge and not priced like they could be considering it's a block away from the touristy Boardwalk. The bread is fresh and everything was delicious. They even have a kids menu. They will definitely be on our must have list every time we go to myrtle beach!

Another great meal at Dagwoods. The meats are awesome and I love the home made bread..... and I am not a bread lover. The staff is always nice. There are a few new faces, but the original staff is still there. Must be a good place to work, the staff I know have been working at Dagwoods for years.

Saw great reviews on Yelp so took our family of five here for a try. We were not disappointed. The selection offered something for everyone, the service was fast and friendly. The sandwiches were large, fresh and delicious. We got two appetizers, 5 meals and drinks for less than $72. We were all very happy and said we would happily eat here again. Looking for a new place to try at the beach...you will be happy you tried this place.

Awesome sandwich shop! Travel tips always recommend eating were the locals eat. Well, this is were the locals eat. When we walked in, we saw a group of Firefighter/EMT's having lunch, a police office and a detective having their lunch and several business men on their lunch breaks. Right away, I knew this was going to be good. As we approached the counter, there was no menu board but a stack of paper menu's. We looked over the menu and I decided to order the Cuban Sammich (and yes, it's spelled that way on the menu). I chose chips for my side (they also had fires, tater tots, pasta salad, potato salad, etc.). After sitting down and waiting a few minutes, our name was called to pick up our sandwiches. My wife ordered an italian sub and my son a ham sub. We were pleasantly surprised when we discovered our meals not only came with a pickle, but also a cookie! My cuban was quite good. Bread was pressed nicely and toasted and hot. The pork tenderloin was shaved thin and very tender and flavorful. Ham and cheese was, well, ham and cheese. There was a slight hint of pickle and mustard, but it could have used a little more of both. Chips were standard Lays in the bag. The cookie was chocolate chip and good. My wife's sandwich was quite tasty. She had an italian with ham, salami, pepperoni and cheese. The bread was soft and flavorful and tasted quite fresh. The meat was close to room temperature and not stone cold like some delis. She reported that the only thing that could have been better would have been some italian dressing or oil and vinegar on the sandwich. I have only two mild complaints, one is they serve Coke products and not Pepsi. Thankfully they had Coke Zero, but still, I much prefer Diet Pepsi. Secondly, there was quite the stale beer/carpet smell when we entered. It was quite strong and we almost left as soon as we walked in, but I'm glad we stayed. Overall a great deli and definitely a place we will return to when we come back to the beach.

Ten years ago, I used to eat here regularly. Today was my first visit since probably 1999. The first thing I noticed was the prices. They have dramatically risen since my last visit. Of course, it's been 11 years, so that can be expected somewhat. I ordered a Corned Beef, and had to pay extra for the swiss. The sandwich was ok, but the corned beef was dry. The place was very loud with music, so loud I could not hear the guy at the counter call out my name when my order was ready.

Food - 3/2 *I have eaten at this place hundreds of times and I never tire of it. Simply put- the best subs I have ever eaten. The secret is their bread, it's downright amazing. Their French Fries are worth the upgrade. My personal favorite is the Southwestern Chicken Sub. Zesty. Flavorful. So so good. Every time I visit Myrtle Beach I eat here multiple times. Price - 0/1 *Over the years, this place has gotten expensive. A sub, fries and a drink will run you close to $12. But honestly, the food is so good I don't mind. Service - 1/1 *I've been going for years mostly for the food but also because they know how to treat their regulars. Free cookie Wednesdays and more. Atmosphere - 1/1 *I love the big rounds tables with the rolling chairs. They'll let you sit in the bar next door if it's crowded. Recently just added some nice TVs. If you are in Myrtle Beach and are looking for a local place to eat lunch- this is your place. Don't go anywhere else. It's the best.
